Melbourne Youth Chorale (MYC) is a unique community enterprise delivering a professional musical education for young people aged 5–20 years old, including those with special needs.
We believe in the transformational power of choral music to develop confident and well-rounded young people — that's why we don’t charge fees.
Founded in Berwick in 1986 by Jean Herriot OBE, MYC relocated to Hampton Park in 2022 as we continue to grow, and to make ourselves more accessible to a lower socio-economic community.
In 2024 MYC consists of 8 choirs for a diverse range of ages and abilities, providing 100+ choristers with quality music instruction using the Kodály method.
Chorale singing and top quality musical education lifts children and young people through cultural experiences and community connection.

Hampton Park is amongst the most disadvantaged areas in the south east of Melbourne. By being fee-free, we are able to be inclusive and diverse. Choristers also come from Berwick, Cardinia, Narre Warren and further afield.
We rely on your generosity as an ACNC tax-deductible registered charity to continue nurturing young musical talent and community. Give the gift of music!
