MYC's new administration platform, replacing OWNA, is called Choir Genius. As you can tell from the name, this platform has been designed especially for choirs. You should have received an email invitation to join Choir Genius.

More information about Choir Genius

You can expect to find all event forms and weekly newsletters in the Choir Genius system.

Choir Genius is NOT generally used as an app. There is an app option, but to use it you need a separate login for each child. It works better for multiple children if you sign in to the portal every time, and you can do this on phone or desktop. After the first-time login from the invitation, you can navigate quickly to the login page using the short link https://mychorale.au/cg  Make a note of this somewhere.

As usual, you can expect a newsletter on a Monday night except in special circumstances. It will be sent as an emailed Bulletin through Choir Genius. The Bulletin will also be saved in the Choir Genius portal so you can easily find information in there rather than hunting back through emails.

Logging Absences

If your child is not coming to a rehearsal then please follow these instructions:

  • Sign into Choir Genius
  • Click the name of the child you are marking absent
  • Click the menu bar in the top left hand corner
  • Scroll to Events and Attendances
  • Find the date you're marking absent
  • Click "Won't" (as in, won't be attending).

You do NOT need to do anything if your child is coming - just come inside with your children and sign them in, then come in again to collect them and sign them out.

Day Camps / Events

Finding and confirming events is much the same as rehearsals - you'll find the event in the same list as rehearsals.

  • On the home page of Choir Genius you should see the names of your choristers. Highlight the child in the relevant choir.
  • When that child’s profile comes up, click the menu button (three lines in the top left corner) then navigate to "Events and Attendances"
  • Find the event e.g. Allegretto Day Camp and read the information. Click "Will" (Ideally we won't see any "Won’t" coming through!)
