Memorial service held on Tursday 28/12, 10.30am
at theRosanove Auditorium, St Margaret’s School Berwick –
Access via St Margaret’s Place, off Melville Park Drive.
The Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation was
dear to mum’sheart so the family areencouraging
donations to support this good work ratherthan gifts
of flowers at her memorial.
The MYC community are deeply saddened by the passing of its much-loved founder, Jean Heriot.
In 1986, Mrs Heriot started the City of Berwick Children’s Choir, bringing her passion for Kodaly-based music education to a wide range of children in the local community. The many students and staff, both those under her tenure and those who followed on, are so grateful for her work and her continued support over the past thirty-one years.
Mrs Heriot was a regular attendee at our concerts, and loved seeing both old and new faces on the stage. There are many musicians and teachers in Melbourne and beyond whose careers have been shaped by her teaching.
Our thoughts are with Jean’s family and friends, and we thank her for her lasting legacy.
